App Store:

“I just downloaded Andrew Webster’s new app for our Sony RX10 Mark 4 called CamRef. This app is an excellent quick reference for choosing the best setting for almost any photo. Thanks Andrew!”

— SacramentoMark, App Store (US)

“This is a really handy app to help get the right settings for the shot but more importantly for me guiding where to change the settings. Great little App.”

— TR3A_Coley, App Store (UK)

For when you want something faster than a PDF: what a setting does, where it lives in the menus, and a few starting points—not a full manual or a Sony product.

What’s inside

  • Camera settings with MENU paths, favourites, and labelled body diagrams
  • Short basics: ISO, aperture, shutter, white balance, metering, focus
  • Guided suggestions for a handful of typical situations

CamRef is independent. “Sony” and “RX10 IV” are trademarks of their respective owners. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Sony.

The reality

Nobody talks about how hard this is. Designing something people actually want, getting it through App Review, and then… actually finding your first users. Here’s where I’m at—App Store Connect numbers, one view at a time. No sugar-coating.

If you're thinking about building an app, I hope this helps. It's tough. It's also worth it.

About

Andrew Webster

Hi I'm Andy — The App Dad

Yorkshire dad. Hobbyist iOS builder. Problem solver by necessity.

Chosen was born out of a very real standoff in our house — choosing our baby's name. Every idea was either "absolutely not" or "I'll think about it." It started to feel less magical and more like a negotiation. So instead of arguing about it… I built something.

I create apps the way I live life — practical, honest, and designed to make things simpler. Most of my coding happens between naps, after bedtime, or whenever I can steal an hour.

No big team. No big funding. Just building things that fix problems I've personally felt. If it helped me, there's a good chance it'll help you too.
